Forgotten

I feel so bad that I have not been doing anything with this blog for the past few months. Christmas in July did me in. I have been so busy with life that this blog has been put on the back burner. I hope that will be different in the weeks to come.

Christmas in JULY day 31

YEAH!!! We made it. 31 days of Christmas in July. I love Christmas. Can you tell? LOL
Here is my card for today.
On the front of this card, I used a snow globe digi stamp and cut out the circle and used a light blue ink on the edges and background. On the underside of the cover, I used a clear sheet to act as the glass of the globe. This way, it looks like you are looking into the globe, but really,
you are looking into the inside of the card.
When you open the card, if just looks like a snowman in the snow.
So cute and simple for our 31st day.
WOOHOO!!!

Christmas in JULY day 26

For today, I went with a simple but cute card.
Peach, Love, and Joy is always good to remember all year long but mostly around Christmas.
This is the card I came up with.
Just a few different scraps of paper and a stamp or two, and you get a nice looking card.
So easy, anyone can do it.
This is what I try to tell everyone that says they are NOT crafty. You don't have to be crafty to make something nice. Just try. You never know what you will get out of it.

Christmas in JULY day 25

Day 25...WOOHOO...That means just 5 months left.
I am so ready for Christmas to be here. Can you tell?
For today, I used a digi stamp called Penguin Pyramid from Gurukitty.
These 3 penguins too so cute looking like a snowman. It is a cute twist on the everyday looking snowman.
For the background paper, I used some blue sky paper and lightly stamped it with snow flakes a little darker blue than the paper. The snow is a scrap of while glitter paper. At the top of the card, I used a "Tiss the Season" banner stamp and popped it up on pop dots.

For the inside of the card, I used a penguin tag that I cut out with my 1in circle punch and I stamped light blue snow flakes across the top.

Christmas in JULY day 24

"WATCH OUT FOR THE YELLOW SNOW!"
I remember being told this when I was a little girl.
I haven't thought about that in so long, until I saw this stamp. I just had to make some YELLOW SNOW around the snowman. This dog has been up to NO GOOD.
My oldest son looked at this card and said, "When a dog's got to go, a dog's got to go."
I hope you enjoy this and it gives you some fun and crazy craft ideas.

Christmas in JULY day 23

For today, I thought I would do something for the men. This is the card I came up with.
There is so much glitter on her dress that every time I took a pic., it wouldn't come out right.
It would blur up the pic. I had to end up scanning her into my computer...lol
She is a HOT number. My boys really like this one.
I am so tired. I am going to bed now.
Everyone, I hope you enjoy my post. Some are short and to the point, like this one.

Christmas in JULY day 21 and 22

That's right, 2 days of Christmas in JULY. Can you take it? lol
First up, for day 21, I make some 2x2 to: from: tags that are just way too cute.
I can not wait to use these.
Here is a view of the inside of one of the tags.

For day 22, I went with another card. This time, I used a FAT snowman digi stamp and colored him in with some clear glitter clue, popped him up on some pop dots, and put him on some background paper with LET IS SNOW written all over it. On two big white button brads, I used some rub-ons, "Merry" on one and "Christmas" on the other.
He is too cute. So fat, you can hardly see his head...lol

WOOHOO!!!! Day 20

I find myself singing Christmas songs all the time now.
With this in mind, you will know the meaning behind today's card.
I know this is a group I would love to hang out with. I would FIT right in.
My children and I sing Christmas songs all year long now. It is a joy that never gets old in my house.
I have been told so many time,
"If you sing Christmas songs all the time, it will get old before Christmas gets here".
My thought is,
WHO COULD EVER GET TIRED
OF SINGING ABOUT JESUS???
So, I will keep on with my singing.

Operation Write Home

WOOHOO!!!
When we got home from the beach on the 13th, I came home to HAPPY MAIL.
My OWH stamp was in the mail.
I used my stamp for the first time today and made sure I took pics.
YEAH!!!
Here I am inking up my OWH stamp.
It came unmounted, so, all I did was put a thin coat of
Aleene's Tack-it Over and Over glue on the back.
Once it was dry, the glue makes on the back acts like a sticker, making it easy to
use it over and over, hence the name...lol
How do you like the ink on my hand? I never come out of my craft room ink FREE...lol
Here I am stamping the back of a card I made.
Here is what the stamp looks like stamped on the back of my FIRST card made for OWH.
Here is the front of the card.
The lady is a stamp I have saved on my computer. I printed her out and colored her in with my Tim Holtz distress markers. After that, I cut her out and glued her onto some scrapbook paper that I have had a while. I matted that with some blue card stock and did some faux stitching with a white jell pen around the edges.

Christmas in JULY day 19

Today, I was sitting at my craft table, thinking of what to make for my blog, when I started playing around with some of my new stamps that I picked up the other day. In one of the stamp sets is a 3x4 stamp that looks like notebook paper. I thought it would be cute to stamp this on paper a few times and cute it out, so my two sons would be able to get started on their Christmas list.
That was when I remembered that I had a stamp of a boy sending his letter to Santa.
This is the card I came up with when I put the two ideas together.
I hand wrote just a few things on the list that most young boys want for Christmas and I used it as a background. The boy and mail box is popped up on pop dots and the edges are inked with a light blue.

Christmas in JULY day 18

Is it just me or is sending fruitcake to someone as a gift, a cruel and horrible joke?
My mom thanks it is funny to send out fruitcakes to everyone knowing her and my grandma are the only two in the family that really like them. I think she does it so they will pass and she will have more to herself...lol
That is what I thought of when I did today's card.
I don't remember who this stamp is from but they knew what they were talking about when they said,
"Let the Fruitcake Nightmares begin".
I think I just might have to save this one for my mom when it is time to send out Christmas cards.

Christmas in JULY day 17

WOOHOO!!! Day 17 is already here. This thinking about Christmas has helped me with the heat.
I hope it has for you as well.
Now, lets get to it. For today, I wanted to see if I could makeover a baby food jar. Here is what I made,
a Snowman's head and short top hat.
He is just too stinking cute and he use to be a baby food jar. How simple and cute is he...
I used a small baby food jar, come scraps of paper, a black marker,
a black button, some tape, and something to cut with
( I used my Cricut to cut a perfect 3in and 2.5in circle because I would whack it up if I did it myself)....lol
I first cut the white paper just a little taller than the jar and long enough to wrap around the jar and overlap just a little. Then I drew a face on the white paper and glued the button in place of the noise.
After the glue dried, I wrapped the white paper around the jar and taped it in place.
For the hat, I used the circles and a strip of black paper and played with it until
I liked the way the hat looked. After that, I wrapped a thin strip of red paper
around the base of the hat and held it in place with tape.
I think he is just too stinking cute.

Christmas in JULY day 16

For today, going back to another day of simple. It is crazy at my house,  but just enough time to make a few napkin rings. Here are just 4 that I made.
I used some Christmas I have had for some time now that I got from Michael's.
All I did was cut the paper into different widths and wrapped them around the napkin.
You can use glue to close the ring, but for these, I just used some tape. I don't want them to come undone anytime soon, so tape is a good way to make sure it doesn't.

Christmas in JULY day 15

For the past few cards, I have been going through some stamps I have on my computer. I like to stamp all my stamps onto white card stock and scan them onto my computer and keep them in a file for times that I want to use a stamp but wish it were bitter. I came across this snow woman and just had to do a card with her.
I don't remember who makes this stamp or if it was a digi stamp or not, but she was right for this card.
I like that I can use this card for Christmas or just a winter card.
For her show dress, I used clear glitter glue and brown glitter clue for the buttons.
The snow flakes and the words SNOW FLAKES are rub-ons.
She is just too stinking cute.
She looks like she is ready for a winter party. Oh, great idea I just had.
This card could be used for a winter costume party invitation.
For me, I am using this card as one that I will be sending to Operation Write Home, OWH.

Christmas in JULY day 12, 13, & 14

Today, I am playing CATCH UP. We left on the 11th to go to the beach house for a few days and I wasn't able to go on my blog at all. It was bad at first, so I stayed VERY busy to keep my mind off of it.
This first card if for day 12.
If you look close, you can see the snowman is embossed. It turned out
BETTER than I thought it would. Got to LOVE it when that happens.
While at the beach, my camera dies. I knew that I packed the charger, but when I went to charge it, NO CHARGER... I couldn't believe it. It was no where to be found. After a few minets of racking my brain, I remembered placing on my dinning room table as I was packing my bags. UGG.
But WAIT!! What did I see? My son's PSP charger. Will this work?
YES!!!
I couldn't believe it. Made my time at the beach even better.

Day 13's Christmas in July is another card.
I love this card. Check out the dog's name, JAWS.
I just thought it would be a cute touch.
For the background, I used an embossing folder for the snow flake look.
Santa looks so sad.

For day 14, this lady Santa looks like she can make his day brighter.
For the white parts of this lady Santa, I used clear glitter glue.
Look close at her leg, and you will see
she is NOT a good little Santa, a tattoo is going down her leg.
This idea came from be not paying attention and I colored part of her leg red.
"OPPS!! No problem. I will just outline it in black and turn it into a tattoo. LOL", is
what I told my mom when I showed her this card.
She liked the idea and the look of the card. This
coming from a woman who HATES tattoos.

Christmas in JULY day 11

For today, I thought I would try something that I have seen many times over the years.
This card is of a 3D Christmas tree made with two different patterned papers.
Most everyone I have seen out there in INTERNET land,
is with double sided patterned paper. I don't have any, so I used two sheets.
This is what I came up with.
The star at the top of the tree is a green brad with a snowflake rub-on on it
and at the bottom of the tree, Christmas Blessings is stamped.
The inside of the card is plain.

Not a Christmas Card

What? Not a Christmas card!!! No. My sister's birthday is this coming Saturday, 14th,
so I wanted to make her a cute little card. This is what I came up with.
The little girl is a digi stamp that was sent to me a while back by a friend, and I thought,
what a cute (little ugly) little thing. The more I look at her, the more I love her.
I used my Stamp Markers to color her in and clear glitter glue (Studio G) on her glasses.
The butterfly is from a Stampin Up die and the pearls are from Michael's.
The paper that I used is from a very old paper pack that my friend found in her office closet at work.
The person that had the office before her left it behind. What a find. It came with so many things that I can not  WAIT to use and share with you.

Christmas in JULY day 10

Oh my goodness!!! Who doesn't like FREE things?
Cricut Craft Room gives out all kinds of free cuts through out the year.
The 3D cones are FREE right now. I believe there are 5 or 6 different ones.
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE FREE things.
This is a cute way to give out treats. Just fill these up and hang them from your
Christmas tree along with candy canes. I am going to make at least one for every child
in my family, in all different and crazy papers.
Too much fun. LOVE IT!!!
